Bremer Bay to Cape Riche and other places 2017 tour.
When one ride isnt enough for everyone we had three. Thanks to Fred, Dennis and others for leading, sweeping and recovering broken bikes and bruised riders..
17 starters on Saturday began at Boxwood hills servo which had unfortunately lost power the night before in an electrical storm and couldnt provide the necessary pre ride lattes.. Not too many dramas on the way out, lots of varying terrain for all comers. Soft beaches, big sand hills, tight enduro single trail, fence lines, coastal tracks, we had it all. A few spills along the way from anecdotal evidence but not many admitting to parting ways with their bikes. Made it to Cape Riche and had lunch and a refuel then more fast riding back to Boxwood hills. About 130 kms for most on the saturday. Sat night we booked 25 seats at the Bremer Pub and had a fabulous feed as usual then off to the two camp sites in preperation for Sundays ride. I invited the Perth Landrover club that was camping with us to come along which they did and our group broke up into two groups . One went North east and had their own adventures with Dennis and the rest went to explore the Dunes of Reef beach. The beach was full of fishermen and the Land rover club had a break down so we left them to it... Young Georgia had a big off whilst flying over a fence line berm that was about 7 meters in height that knocked the wind out of her and for a time didnt look good but our recovery vehicle scooped her and bike up and took her back to base for a Bex and a nice lie down..... A worthy recipient of SOtD and thankfully ok later on.
Dennis's crew had their own dramas with flats and lost riders..
No doubt others can fill in the details of the dramadies of the weekend.. Thanks to all the 20 or so riders for coming down/over to Bremer for the weekend .

Big thanks to Lex, Fred & Dennis for organizing this ride. Awesome trails, incredible scenery and well led by Fred, who makes it look very easy out front.
I wimped out on the Sunday ride, and decided to have an extra day of recovery.
Great Photo's Lex.
I also love that drive down to Bremer, the back roads are such fun and it was so interesting to see the damage caused by the flood waters. I will post a few pics of the worst bridge.

Bremer was another great weekend, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Thanks to Fred, Dennis, Brian and the other southern riders for showing us around.
Saturdays ride was great with less loose sand than last year and we all coped well. Only one bike gave trouble but the back up ute was at the right spot to help out.
Now Sunday was a trifle different...although still fun.
We misplaced a rider early on and two men went to look for him, found him.
Nek minute we had a head-on incident between the 3 wheel machine and one of the DRZ bikes with the 3 wheeler losing the centre out of his rear wheel, could have been very nasty and not what you want to have happen on a ride. Two men went to retrieve their ute.
At the next rest break a flat tyre presented the Albany boys with a chance to hone their tube replacing technique.
At about this stage it was starting to look time to go home and then Terry, from Bremer, found a soft patch of sand and ended up in the surf. Hope your ribs are okay mate.
Hope to do it again next year, thanks all for a good time. Nice photos Lex.
Cheers Terry.

Our family had a great weekend down at bremer.

The soft beach sand was a struggle for the little 250, Dazza, Inver and I did a nice 5ok loop in the afternoon.

Giant spiders, black snakes, emus and kangaroos.

Quite funny watching Dazza doing the "Get the fn spider off me!! " dance. ha ha

Bremer Bay Ride
First of all a big thanks to Dennis and Lex for organising the weekend's ride, the support vehicle on Saturday and dinner on Saturday night. They did a great job and another huge big thanks for Fred for leading Saturday's ride with a great range of tracks. He certainly sets a cracking pace. I had a great weekend away, thoroughly enjoyed Saturday's ride with a couple of great stretches chasing Fred down and a bit of bar banging with Inver. Some of the sections reminded me of the Ravy Rat Run. Saturday night saw quite a few of us head out to the pub for dinner which didn't disappoint. Great food and good company. I sat out Sunday's morning ride to spend time with the family, which might have been a wise choice given the dramas a few had during their rides. Ended up taking Paul and Inver out Sunday arvo, on a track I remembered from last year. All in all another great weekend with spectacular weather. Let's hope the Bremer Bay boys aren't tired of us and are able to put on another great one next year.

And yes Paul, spiders and me don't mix - especially when they are BIG!
