Woky in March
Woky in March
DazzaM, Pete450, Martyn, HuskyMike, 2slow, and non crusty Steve. Daz called it and they came, 6 riders, moist conditions, a good pace by all it was a great day. Thanks Daz for a great job (as always) leading and thanks heaps Mike for sweeping. We got straight into it and after about ten minutes Daz stops with a locked up back brake, while Daz backed of the brake we all commented on how little dust there was. Off again on a good variety of tracks, lots of single track and some hills but nothing nasty. We got a bit further down the track and Steve couldn't believe how good the conditions were so he leapt of bike and had a very close look at the ground to confirm it. I also had a brief encounter with a patch of dirt. We got to the furthest point away from the cars and realized Steve had a dead flat front tyre and a rear that wasn't much better, he soldiered on anyway and even knocked back a short cut opportunity. I had a great time blasting around in the pack, we rode on both sides of Mornington Road and did 60 something kilometers which was just right for me as i haven't ridden since October. Thanks to all for a great day and thanks Daz for the beer. I can't wait for the next one. Dave 6 at wokky today and what a day it was. Mid March and mainly damp ,with one tiny bit of dust on a fence line.Never before seen like this. Thanks Dazza for the call and the guys for making it a great day. I put my hand up for sweep, but it was such a lively pace,I was not really needed. Was fun following Steve home with his flat front tyre, he made the trees duck for cover a few times, but made it home in one piece. A good day. HM Cheers to all the the guys that turned up for the Woky ride. I know I sound like a broken record but i sure did enjoy Sunday mornings ride. Heading out for the ride I thought it might get a bit dusty. Couldn't believe how much moisture the dirt was holding, which made for great riding conditions I had a bit of a problem with the rear brake locking up,but was an easy fixed. Somehow I've got a bit of dirt in the master cylinder. With all the guys carrying a good pace I hardly had to use the corner man system and no major offs on the day. Always fun riding great bunch of guys, and while we didn't do a huge amount of kay's i had a blast riding them. Cheers to Mike for covering sweep duties and Dave for the ride report Looking forward to the Jurien Bay ride Cheers Dazza |
