After a bit of to and fro on the message board t'was decided a northern hills ride was the go, and Tommy stepped up and called it. 8:30, at the "usual" spot, hehe just don't ask me for directions- ever! The bike gods got together with the weather gods and delivered a perfect day. The rain of the previous days had water everywhere but no rain on the day. We left the cars with Tommy leading and Jacko the super sweep bringing up the rear. We headed off in the usual direction, but soon after we did a back track due to too much water, a great sign! The pea gravel was tamed puddles everywhere and plenty of moisture around but no rain and pretty mild temps. I went down pretty hard over some wet logs, few bruises- mainly to my ego. Tommy lead us around mostly familiar trails sometimes with a direction change thrown in, pretty boggy in places the 4x4 holes were all scary deep and some of the deeper bike ruts unrideable. The tighter trails thru the parrot bush were great as the pea gravel was almost loamy due to all the rain of the previous days. Tommy took a few pics, and he showed the steely glare of a pro behind the lense, putting his arse on the line for the one great shot. His arse, in this occasion ended up very wet! See the pics, and think about where the wave coming off my bike is gunna go...! Professional till the end Tommy, well played! I'm pleading innocence, and even said to the crew, since there was so much water around, "hey you guys know I wheelie thru everything, right" But apparently I'm still a "cont" hehe!! Fun an games all round few deep ish water crossings to make it interesting and a few "fill ins" across the board- cheers toddy! A fantastic day finished off with the usual beer and banter at the cars. A few milestones achieved, Mick 50 rides, Todd 80 rides and me one ride ahead of Rob whoop whoop!! Cheers Tommy, Jacko for sweeping and the boys for the laughs,
Hooters
