a Adventure Ride
"a" Adventure ride:
Mick, called a small, big bike ride earlier in the week. Bunga, Mick and myself took our skinny big 500's and Pounce, Tommy and Ross bought their 650's- game on! After a bit of banter about the softcocks that trailered their 500's to Paddy's Bush Bar, we headed off towards Brookton, the plan being a pub lunch and return for a St Patricks day beer. The tracks started off open single track, and slowly became more open and we did a fair bit of open dirt roads more than usual but was good for a change. We made really good time and made Brookton by 11am, so the pub lunch became a roadhouse morning tea- bloody good food too. By now Bunga was coping it for changing out his throttle for a switch, two modes idle and 9000rpm! Excellent- taking the heat off me!!!! whilst chugging down cokes and pies it was decided the a short day would be the go. So we headed off back towards the utes, and more open stuff with a little single track thrown in. Back at the pub about half two 270 easy km's done, no drama apart from Bunga's throttle switch-could be a 500 thing as mine jammed open while Bunga was parked behind me.....ops! A couple of beers washed down the dust and grins all round, great day. Cheers Mick for leading and everyone for the laughs      |
