"A dusty day in April" Mickal, Darin, Bunga, Hooters, beta Jed, KTMike, Paul, and Todd
After a bit of to and fro between Mick and Darin, A Sawyers ride was called. We met at the pub and after hand balling a stray dog to the pub owners, we were booted and riding about 8am, 3 newbies in tow. It rained during the week but you wouldn't know it, plenty of dusty but plenty of grins too. Mick was leading and Bunga hanging down the back, with his mate Paul from Broome, sweeping. We headed out on the usual trails, Mick doing his best to find a bit of moisture, but it was a hard task. Didn't matter tho despite the dust everyone was having a good time. It was a long time between rides for Todd and ole mate Paul was doing it tough down the back, having never ridden the evil combo of bone dry pea gravel and coffee rock, so we stopped heaps and lies and laughs were shared. Micky mixed in single track and more open trails and we took a pretty easy option for the home stretch as we were all dusted and tired. 110km give or take was the tally, 15 get offs for Paul, a face full of mud for Bunga and a few other small offs, but nothing serious. We had lunch and a beer at the reopened pub, and the day was done about 3pm. Thanks to Mick for leading and Bunga for his outstanding efforts down the back. Hope to see Michael and Jed again, and Paul maybe on a Lancelin/ ovt run, in the sand which he likes. Cheers Hooters

Footnote: Due to my slack arse not working since oct, I've been a total club slut, riding with "west oz single track", "knights of ridealot", "PAR" (when I'm allowed!) and who ever else is keen, I've met some great blokes all with a common interest, from the youngsters to the grand pappy's. I've noticed quite a few looking for more full on technical hardcore stuff or less bike destroying madness and more open trails. The more we all talk to each other the more guys are gunna end up riding at the level they are looking for, Michael and Jed came with the crusty's on sat from the PAR club, just looking for a bit more single track on the skinny bikes- hopefully had a great day and we see them again. If not..... fuck em! argh ahahaha, joking!!! I've been flying the crusty flag so we might see a few more come over, either way it's gotta be a good thing.
