The Hooter-Less Ride

We did a pre ride maintenance check and there wasn't a hooter to be found on any bike.

Big Gee arrived early at the meeting spot (which was unusual) but in his rush had brought all his safety gear but left all his riding clobber. I was really looking forward to getting a picture of him in boots, shorts and a T shirt. Unfortunately Jnr had a spare set haha, a case of beers right there.

Jnr went past the lead rider at 160kms p/h. (I was waiting on a corner) sorry mate but you are banned until you can behave (again) bwahaha.

We took the very long route to Bannister ( I was trying to link different things together)
On the return Journey I missed a turning and ended up on a track with the biggest whoops I have seen. I waited on a corner and only Jack arrived, I headed back (Through the Whoops) and found the guys with Mark's dead KTM 300. Did he have a spare plug - NO. We were contemplating how to get his bike back to the cars, when Jack realized (while riding a 4 stroke) that he had a 2 stroke plug in his bag. Problem solvered, well done Jack.

We eventually got back to the cars and Jnr had some of the coldest beers I have ever tasted, went down a treat, thanks mate.
Thanks to everyone for coming and for the directional help along the return journey. An outdated GPS, failing reading eyes and general confusion had me traveling in circles on the return journey

What a cracker of a ride, only 5 CQ’s turned up to suck up what’s hopefully the last of this summers dust due to the delayed storm front that was meant to wet the tracks for us.

An invitation went out to our PAR brothers but none turned up. Regardless this was going to be a ride tailored to them with lots of Km’s, a pie and drinks stop, trackside maintenance and varied terrain from bush gullies, black tar and punishing whoops.

Thanks Darin for calling a ride and everybody else for sharing the sweep duties. We were all crushed by the end of the day and feeling our age.

That’s what adventure rides are all about. You have your highs and push through the lows and if you are still smiling at the end of the day then it was a great adventure. Finally when your body heals you are ready for the next one.
