Sawyers Valley Ride
Riders: Jack, Jacko, Mickkal, Kenny
The day started with a less than impressive Hungry Jacks bacon and Egg muffin at Mundaring and then up to the Sawyers Valley Tav for the arranged meeting place in the car park.
Jacko was the next on the scene and while we were getting the bikes unloaded, Jacko saw a very large rat going about his business at the back of the pub's fence line.
Jack rocked up and then Mick.
We kitted up and started the ride with a very small section of bitumen.
It was very dry and dusty, the flavour of the season atm but it was still a fun day out.
Flowing trails to start the day off and coming up on some white clay???? and all I saw was a tonne of dust. I thought that Jacko had gotten on the gas and as I approached, Jacko had been poggoed over the bars from hitting a rock. He got back up and the Beta fired up no problems.
We had a few hill climbs which were fun and up one particular climb with a lot of downed timber, Jacko and Jack had found themselves up the ridge off of the track from trying to avoid the timber. A quick catch up and we were back on track.
Some nice single track was thrown in but it was apparent that the track was well ridden with some kick ass woops to test the suspension.
Just about back to the pub and passed an emu on the corner of the Highway of all things.
The pub's kitchen wasn't opened but at least the beer was cold. I was still chewing on dirt anyways.
Thanks for leading the ride Mickkal and nice meeting you all, Jack and Jacko.
