Tommy, Junior, Hazie, Slates and Bunga

Tommy called the Good Friday ride and 5 players turned up. I must be honest yesterday I was concerned it was only going to be me and Tommy so I made a phone call to the Lord for some reassurance.
It was an 830 start from Sawyers Tavern and yes it was both cold and wet to start the day. Wearing my new Dririder rain outfit kept me dry and not as cold as I would have otherwise been.
The ride was a good combination of forest roads and single tracks with the near perfect ground moisture after the nights rain. Some good long high speed roads mixed in with lots of single tracks to slow everyone down. A good pace was kept throughout the day with plenty of smoko stops for me and Hazie.

Tommy had a stack on a big sheet of rock causing him a bad shoulder and arm but as a tough mutha he dug deep and continued on throughout the day, take my hat off to you mate I don’t think I would have made it in that condition. A quick fuel stop at Bannister and then it was heading north to the Jarrahdale Hotel for a burger. A special thanks to Junior for taking the lead and letting Tommy have a well deserved spell sweeping. The rain hit us again just short of a late lunch and this time hail just to add to the misery.
A great lunch and a couple of pints for the boys and my cup of coffee to warm up.

Junior lead us again on the way home with some great single tracks and open roads to give us all a rest.
Slates looked like he was really enjoying his new 690 and put it through its paces, hope you enjoyed your first ride and plenty more to come. Hazie great to see you out again enjoying the 450 and you witnessed my close call to the ground in the later stages of the ride.
I have to say the concept seat does make a difference but really if I wasn’t such a lazy bastard and stood up on the pegs it would make an even bigger difference.

All up 340 km Adventure Ride and as junior said likely the best he has been on and I would have to agree.
Ride of the day goes to Tommy for putting up with his injuries and you guest it stack of the day goes to Tommy for an unfortunate get off, I hope you recover quick mate.

Thanks to each of you guys for turning up and for the weather gods giving us some sunshine.

See you out there again
Bunga.

Absolute epic ride today lads enjoyed every one of the 460kms from door to door & had wicked conditions all day, Tommy that was well put together, rider of the day with my vote with leading/sweeping/putting the ride together & riding with a buggered shoulder.
The heavens opened up on me just for good measure again 10minutes from hm :((
See you on the next one
JNR
