Pounces 200th
Pounce’s 200” 14 riders: Tommy, Pounce, Jacko, ktmike, Pikey, Slates, Junior, Hooters, CRF Andrew, James, Darren, JB, Mickal, and Ant
Tommy called it for Pounces 200, sat at the lakes and onto the park spot. A great turnout 14 in all. Junior lead and Pikey and Jacko shared the sweep duties. The weather was fantastic the morning started quite fresh but after the fog lifted it warmed up. The day was drama filled, I left the car park with no rear brake, too embarrassed to halt the ride before it started! The big five hunge has heaps of engine braking so all good, I was riding it in it’s adventure mode big tank, tall gearing and a adventure tyre just to see if I could do single track and yup all good the 500’s are a great all round bike. Junior lead us out starting in the damp boggy mossy lowlands, a few fill ins and quite a few laughs Slates went for a wee swim in smelly rut water and I broke out the spanners at a regroup to sort my back brake. We made our way into the hills great tracks with a few snotty hills to make it interesting. The bike gods jumped on me again an katy stopped dead after I had a stick flick up, pikey an I ripped off the seat and tank, it literally was the blind leading the blind- not a pair of glasses between us ;( but we cracked it a broken throttle body sensor, ripped off by the stick- we chanalled Jacko an busted out the super glue and by some miracle it ran, albeit like a bag of arseholes but hey we were mobile, too lucky. We weren’t feeling the love but Tommy showed up just as we finished with Mitch, the collective decision was not to bail and roll the dice so we did and Katy completed the ride with no further drama- phew! More awesome trails then Pounce went awol round pony rock somewhere, bit of a communication mix up, after a back track to find him- unsuccessfully we decided “fuck em” (hehe jokes pounce calm down) but seriously we decided he must have gone back to the cars. So onward we went, James went down hard crossing a creek an tweaked a knee and I spotted a few more sneaky lay downs. It was nearly 2pm so we decided to bee line back to the cars and make sure Pounce was actually there, thank fuck he was phew! Junior fired up his bbq an Tommy opened up a 200 cake. Beers, snags and cake too lovely. Great job junior cooking the bbq and leading the ride- no to mention carting my bike around! So a great day speckled with drama but an awesome day with the lads never the less. Oh yeah great work junior rescuing JB before he made it to bannister! Congrats on the 200 rides pounce, cheers for the laughs gentlemen Hooters To all that came along for Pounce’s 200 thanks heaps was a good ride organised by Tommy & thanks to Jacko & Husky for sweeping. Well done Pounce great effort & thanks for all your help at the Crusty’s over many years. Thanks Tommy for baking a awesome cake & the beers to wash it all down while standing round the fire having a good yarn watching the boys warm up cause they got wet some how :)) I had to make a left turn near the cars to follow JB & Darren as they went the wrong way & JB was in just a normal car & could’ve easily got stuck, I saw Pounce turn right & not care as he was deserted during the ride & was probably pay back :))) See you out the next one JNR                                             |
