Pig Shooters Hill
Players: Pounce, MicKKal, Jed, Todd, Slates, Shaun, Hamish, Jack, Darrel, Franky, Mitchell690

Eleven hardy soles weathered the 7 degree chilly morning, three 2strokes, usual mix of 450 fifys / 500 hungys and two 690’s.

A bit of persuasion required to fire up the Gasgas, Riders meeting and straight into primo trails. MickKal did an awsome job tailoring the trails to big bore bikes, well for the first half of the ride ?? With the winter sun still low on the horizon shadows of imaginary roots, rocks and logs kept us on our toes.

No more then 15km into the ride frostbite to the fingers was taking effect, so to ease the pain MickKal stopped for a quick re-group, head count and warm your mittens on the exhaust. We continued on at a cracking pace with everybody staying upright until a carnage pile up on the last hill climb at Pig Shooters hill thanks to Slates ?î With ruts 1/2m deep either side bikes were strewn all the way down the hill. Some team work needed to get the unlucky ones out of the rut and a little push to give others traction to continue the hill climb to the rest stop.

After re-energising at Pig Shooters hill the twin tracks turned to single, more hill climbs and creek runs. This gave our 2stroke friends an advantage and ensured the 690’s were pushed to their limit.

Well done MicKKal, you catered to all the bikes on this ride. Another rest stop closer to home we watched, cheered and laughed at Franky, Shaun and “Rider of the Day” Todd entertain us at concurring the hilltop.

Great day out had by all in perfect conditions and a shout out to Hamish for sweeping ??/span

Jack

Thanks Mick for putting on a great ride & leading yesterday, he was ably assisted by Hamish who executed a polished ride as sweep. I keep repeating myself every post but the rides put on by the Crusty Boys are second to none! It was great to see some old mugs and some new faces out yesterday and considering we had 11 starters it looks like it's good for the future for the CQs. Name and shame.......yep it was me who started the camel train carnage on Pig Shooters Hill, shout out to Franky for getting me out of there. As Jed mentioned to me I was picking lines like a blind heroin addict, I need some practice there. Great ride by Todd on the 4 fitty to snatch the ROTD award, special mention to Shaun & Mitch on the 690s, man, those dudes have some skills. Overall a top day with a great bunch of blokes and we finished up with a couple of sherbets outside the pub with no beer!
Slates

Mick led a good bike specific ride yesterday with just enough single & hills to keep the 690 guys in their place, even though they still showed us all how it's done.
Make sure you plug everything back in when you pull your bike apart the night before a ride
Todd on a 450 4 stroke proved that 2 strokes aren't the kings of the hills.
We all hit that log across the road at speed on the final run home.
Thanks to all for a good fast ride with nay dramas, the way it should be.

Easiest ride report I ever had to write, thanks Jack.
