Well;got back after mickkals 150th.Gotta say, was pleasantly tired when I got back. Not making excuses ,but the 1am finish on Sat eve probably did not help. The Perth riders would have known they had a ride by the time they finished.
Anyway had a great ride on the new steed.Chalk and cheese compared with the DR.I have to mention that Tommys shortcut today ,was the 'piece de resistance'.Frankie must have had fun battling it on the monster.
Thanks to Tommy for the lead job and Hazi and mickkal for sweeps.Good to see Ross,Rothy, Todd and the three girls turn turn up to help celebrate.

Awesome ride Tommy with a mixture of everything from single track to wide open stuff. Big day in the saddle on Saturday (400km) with a rear flat just before the end was enough for me. Congrats to Mick for the 150 milestone and was great to celebrate the achievement with a few beers at the Quindanning hotel

Look forward to the next one. Cheers
Hazi

BTW,thought I would update on the 690 fuel issue running the two tanks.
My Fuel light was on most of the bitumen section into Quindanning.I had only filled the top tank at Dwellingup, not realising the engine was using the bottom tank.
That's not how it is supposed to work with valve open.

Two things:if top tank isolation Valve is open, the top tank will drain into the rear tank, but only if rear fuel level is low.Probably pretty obvious.Gravity works that way.
The important thing (as I found out). The top tank has to breath. ie no vacuum. The breather on my top tank was not letting air in at a sufficient rate.A standard breather is good to let gas out but not in.

With my temporary mod (a baby fuel filter hooked to breather hose) Should solve the problem. However,Tommys idea of leaving valve closed until fuel light comes on is probably safest.

Thanks to Tommy and everyone else who showed up for the ride out to Qundanning for the overnighter Adv. 5 Diehards departed from Sawyers with the Ktm 500s making up the majority, we then hit the usually trails and then a couple of singles tracks where Frankie started to make us look bad by throwing his 200kg Ducati around like it was a mountain bike. Fortunately for us he then got a flat tyre so we all felt much better, It was a tubeless front tyre so it was interesting to see it popped back on in 10mins with some CO2 cylinders supplied by Hazi.

Tommy had planned a mega ride but we ended up having to take a few short cuts to Jarradale so we could meet HM and Pounce and still get to Quindanning before it got dark. Tommy did a great job of winging it for a lot of the ride which is not an easy thing to do. Slight mishap when we all arrived at Quindanning minus Hazi the sweep, but it was only due to a flat and was quickly sorted.

Plenty of beers and banter at the pub that night with Hooters being in fine form. It was also good to catch up with Rothy, Todd and Ross who showed up on the road bikes. The mint trails on Sunday morning East of Dwellinup were the high light of the ride. The Southern riders peeled off at Dwelly where the rest of us took the easy trails back to Jarradale for a couple of beers to finish up. Top weekend and I clocked up 690klm door to door.
Mickkal

First time on a bike with grunt in 6 months & I had a ball even though a lot shorter distance than t'others.
Thanks to the regular diehard crew, Tommy, Mick, Mike, Hooters & Hazi & great to meet Frankie.
The 3 old fellas on road bikes topped it off.
See y'all next ride, hopefully soon.
