Winter finally arrived with plenty of rain over the past few days and light steady drizzle most of the morning. The boys gathered at the normal meeting point with three riders turning out for their first Crusty ride. KxSteve lead the ride with Pete undertaking his normal duties as head sweep. One big loop of around 70 k's was covered mostly on single lane goat trails. KXSteve picked up ROTD for leading a top ride and making sure everyone was put through their paces.

Young Dan picked up SOTD for his efforts. Apparently a slippery log crossing got the better of him resulting in a crash into a pile of dead wood and a nice graze on his neck. Well done also Dan for a top ride on the new TTR.

Col Mc was also in contention for the crash award after drowning the new KTM in a deep muddy water crossing. He was warned not to go that particular way!!!!! Next time bring a snorkel with you Col. Pete almost ended up with the HOG award near the end of the ride. Heading bush to avoid another bike, a branch/stick grabbed his bike and ripped the carby out the back of the barrel. Fortunately nothing was damaged and within 10 minutes he was on his way again.

John kept his speed down to about 100 mph most of the ride. You would find one of them marking a corner and within no time flying past you again making their way back to the front of the pack. Both you guys are crazy. Orry wasn't far behind them either with plenty of burst of speed.

Pounce was happy to get back to base after the big loop whinging about rutted out goat trails and bloody whoopies. I don't know what he was on about, I didn't notice any whoops. LOL. He said he wouldn't be back to Metro's in a hurry and preferred to ride somewhere where he could get the big 600 out of second.

The rest of the boys all had a good ride. There were a few small offs and the odd put down but all in all a good days riding. Well done to everyone to for sticking with the corner man system. It works well and gets everyone home.

LUNCH AND A FEW LAUGHS ABOUT THE DAYS RIDING.
