Although everyone who turned up for the ride was a Crusty Quinn there were a few faces we haven't seen for a while. The rider who has been out of the saddle the longest was Wolfie on his new DRZ 400 who came along with Brad. Roley rides the same bike but I had never heard his 400 make the same sound Wolfie's was making. This noise is apparently made by holding the throttle hard on until the rev limiter kicks in!!!! Well done Wolfie, you picked up ROTD.

John 525 called the ride and Orry took on the task of leading us on a great ride. After a couple days of rain the boys were all out on Friday getting new wet weather tyrs fitted. Unfortunately the tracks were as dry as the preverbial and an old set of retreads would have done the job. We rode down the Power Line and then on some nice goat trails before taking on the creek bed. This part of the ride is arsom. There are some nice flowing sections, great berms and some really good gotcha's. I don't think I was the only one who got caught out and nearly came a cropper.

Pounce was in contention for the SOTD award after what was described as a pretty good dismount on a fairly steep asent.

THe rest of the guys had a good time. I watched Wal taking advantage of nearly every rise and practicing lifting the 450 skywards as high as he could. Tawa showed some good skill and speed down at the "lets go flat out paddock" as did Wolfie and Grant. Old fellows like Pete, Mark, Craig and John 525 are just happy to get back to the cars in one piece. Brad and Gary had smiles on their dials most of the ride.

It was a dusty run and the speed was down most of the way but I had a bloody good ride and really enjoyed it. I love riding the creek and can't wait to see it with a few moist sections in it.

Orry had the camera today and snapped a lot of good shots. There are too many to flick onto the report and it would not be fair to decide which ones would miss out. So if you want to check out the pics from today, they are at 829 - 844. There was one pic however that stood out above the rest and that was one of the ROTD.
