Report by Col.

After a busy season and a huge amounts of rides all over the state, it was time to start winding up the rides for the year. Although a few die-hards will still want to get out for a fang, a lot of the boys will have a break over the hotter months. It was now time for a end of year Crusty Quinns Classic. The venue chosen this year was the wonderful coastal trails north of Lancelin.

Col decided it would be great to work in the fast flowing trails that lead from the main Wedge track out towards Cataby but fuel would be an issue. We therefore decided to enlist the help of Peter and KX Steve to carry some fuel, chairs, BBQ, snaggers and drinks and make a social event out of it. We also decided to throw in a time trail for those interested.

The riders headed out to Wedge while the 4 x 4's headed towards Cataby to set up the lunch area. Howard lead the group the first leg of the journey setting a cracking pace and keeping the boys in control. A ride would not be complete without something happening to Choko. He picked up a flat 10 k's from the meeting point and rode back with Roley to fit another tube while the rest of the group rode to Wedge and return.

We found Steve and Pete a few k's down the trails set up under a nice big shady tree. A 3.2 km time trail was set up and most of the boys gave it a go. KiwiChris as obviously ridden once or twice before and set the quickest time of the day. Well done buddy.

No surprise H put in a good time but look how far Choko has come in a short time. Good onya mate. Another special mention as well to young Craig85. He came along with his Dad today on the little 85 smoker and did a top job. Grunta had the only off that was spotted today. He said it was just a simple step off but good enough to pick up the SOTD award. Col was nominated by the group for the ROTD award for organising the ride and putting it all together.

After time trial, a feed, refuel and a break, the group took a ride out towards Cataby to experience what I would call the best coastal trails around Perth. For the return leg we split into two groups to let the fast boys have agood blast. I rode in the second group but still found myself riding past my own limits on occasions. The trails just make you want to go faster.

The trip back on the main Wedge track was pretty full on as well. 17 guys chasing Howard was not enough. Pete spotted H from his 4 x 4 a good 4 - 5 minutes ahead of the second rider. The day was tops. The trails superb. A big thank you to our new BBQ Bitch Alice. You didn't take long to work out how to cook an Aussie BBQ.

The riders also threw in a few dollars ($64.00) for Col Mac's Movember sponsorship. Thank you to all who contributed to a great day.
