Report by Robyn -
The Crustys and families gathered for the social event of the year! A celebration of Australia and the freedom and good life it offers us and our friends from around the world. A fusion of old and new Australian cuisine was on offer as guests savoured the delights of meat pies, kangaroo snaggers, chiko rolls, Pavlova, lamingtons and Tim Tams. A special mention needs to be made of the cheese and cocktail onion pineapple. (See photo).

It was good to see so many people make the effort to dress for the occasion and demonstrate some ridgy didge Aussie behaviours. The boys gathered around the Barbie with their beers and the girls gathered around the baby - sad but true! Too much alcohol was consumed (see photo), we over ate and bronzed bodies basked in the sunshine.

CQ Land Citizenship certificates were awarded to all members who have attained the status of "diehard" or better, and Tourist Visas where awarded to newbies, Tony and Boy Blunder.
Special awards were presented as follows:
JAW - Companion of the Order of CQ Land. (In recognition of past outstanding achievement and service).
COLIN - Officer of the Order of CQ Land. (In recognition of current outstanding achievement and service).
ACID GLOVES EDDY- True Blue Order of CQ Land. (In the true Aussie spirit, always there for you).

Roley warmed the crowd up, dressed in boardies and riding gear, with some challenging Aussie questions eg. Is there someone you are only mates with because they have a trailer or a pool? Overall the crowd was impressive and demonstrated a good grasp of Australian culture and language.

As the day wore on and with the consumption of more alcohol, the girls decided to form a breakaway group - The Crusty Queens. Much discussion went into deciding on our policies and guidelines and with hands held our motto echoed across the neighborhood - "Happy Wife - Happy Life". The boys were very happy for us and I am sure I heard murmurs of support coming from them!!!!!!!! I am not able to divulge any more information as "What happens on the trail, stays on the trail" applies. As does "what happens in the shoe store, hairdressers and women's toilets stays there"!

A great day with great people and Roley and I enjoyed having you at our place.
