Dust? What dust!
Date 15/Feb/09
6 Riders DavidM, FueltankerAllen, KLXPete, mick450, Pounce, X
Rider of the day Pounce
Stack of the day DavidM
All together now...

Three DRZ's,
Two KTM's
And a lonely Kawazaki.

Pounce called a ride at realy short notice, but luckily 5 others showed up.

Started at the Lakes 15 minutes late as David is already working on Florida time.
Headed accross to the Powerlines then into the now familiar loop. Took the guys around, Mick was itching for that nice hill climb bit, so i didn't let him down. Apparently there was a bit of dust about. I didn't see any until we got to a bit where they couldn't get lost so I let them out in front. Yeah, I went last and riding through the thick, overgrown prickly stuff with no breeze did make it a bit interesting at times. Bit of a rest stop as David re-assembled the KTM, seat bolt fell out.
I took the lead again, (no more dust for me!) down through the permanent puddle, which was dry for the first time I can remember, over the hill and down to the end of the creek run. Scooting along the best banked curved trail bits back towards the Hwy, bit of another rest stop half way along as David re-re-assembled the KTM, seat bolt fell out again. Allan and Darin hadn't done that area yet so it was good to see them happy.
Then onto the goat trail bit back to the powerlines. Just before we got there I had the funniest off in ages. Back wheel got sick of following the front, so it overtook it and put me and the bike into the bush. Pete was right behind me so the video could be a laff. SOTD was in the making... until going along the powerlines David hit one of them deep holes and clipped an outcrop thingy and down he went. Didn't see it but he hurt his foot pretty much.
Down the usual way back to the Lakes and the ride was over. We clocked up around 90klm's
Other mentions for offs today were, Pete fell over on on of the hills, Allan mentioned he went sliding down a hill on his head, I stalled it and fell over on a log & Mick fell over on a small log. I think Darin was the only one to stay upright today.
All up a very enjoyable ride. I collected a billion spider webs, some with the spiders still in them and the Skippy Squadron was out in force aswell. Starting early in summer is worth it. We were back by 11.30 as it started getting hot.
Thanks for the ride fellas.
