... that wasn't very fruitful.

Driving up to the Lakes, it looked like werewolf weather. Heavy fog & mist.
The 3 guys showed up, then without much mucking about we headed off. It was a wee bit cold & damp but the fog cleared as we headed over to the slippery tracks hoping for a bit of fun. No werewolfs but plenty of wereroos about. I'm sure they were out to get me.
A quick stop took a bit longer as Beau did some secretarial work and tried sending an SMS. Off again and the guys couldn't see it but dissapointment was on my face. No water or mud anywhere. :-( O'well, carry on. Over to the tight windy goat trail via one of my favourite fastish trail bits. Stop 2 while the phone comes out again.
A loop around some sensitive area, through some more open trails, into the damp mossy trails which were a bit slippery, then back to a part we'ld been on.
Stopped again & had a chat to 2 others out there. That's some of their favourite areas too. Told us about a bit I've been meaning to check out, so off along it and it came out near the deep puddles. I show the guys the path through, but Beau goes a bit askew and gets a bit wet, then Mick has a go and some how drenches himself with a bow wave, rides his bike up a small tree and falls off into the water. Very funny off.
I actually got dissorientated and had to backtrack through the puddles, (just to watch the guys again) then back along the familiar route to the Lakes. A slight detour at the Powerlines as a group of 4WD's had taken over the whole track got Beau caught on a fence I didn't see.
All up about 80 something click and back at Lunchtime.
A fast & enjoyable ride. Thanks for coming out fellas.
