The Colin McCaughey Mystery Tour of North Bannister
Report by WRFDave
The tour consisted of eight riders and included one newbie Sam from NZ. After Peter made some modifications to Colin McC's Berg, which involved a GPS and lots of tape! Followed by instructions on how to use the GPS 'just follow the green arrow", we were on our way. We came across all sorts of terrain on these trails, pee gravel, mud, sand,a small water crossing and lots of whoops... everyone's favourite workout. After a few stop and starts at the t-junctions, we proceeded to maintain a good steady ride back to refuel. Pretz and KTM Colin called it a day at that point, so myself and the others ventured back out for some more. After 15km in and everyone tired of battling the whoops, we all agreed to call it quits. Not sure who got SOTD, however Peter's name was mention, but yet to be confirmed! Thanks to Colin for taking the lead and conquering the damm GPS :) and to Roley for sweeping. From Roley: Oh I would give newbie Sam the SOTD - lost the front wheel on a berm (I suspect from the pressure being put on him by Tommy at the time! LOL). Bannister Bannister Col reminiscing about the legendary KTM reliability Roley decided to stop mid stream to wash Peter's tyres. |
