A surprising good roll up for a warm Sunday morning. It was set as a 100k ride and leisurely start time of 10am.There was no set route planed, just a vague idea of where we might head.
We welcomed a new starter (Phil), who had decided that careering through the bush on motorcycles was safer than Hang gliding!
A thank you to Jack who had no body armour , so volunteered to sweep.
Thanks to Jacko for organising.
Also thanks to the guys who rolled up for the fun.

First couple of kms was nice and easy warm up.
Jacko decided to check out the usual quarry hill climb and found some major earthworks at the crest.
We all had a shot; some needing a little assistance, mainly due to a well placed rock near the top.
It was at this point , that the leisurely part of the ride was over. The nice clean faces were now dirty (except Jackos).
The next 10ks was mainly pine trails, relying on Jackos dead reckoning (forget the GPS).Lots of pesky logs to avoid or jump. Good fun.
The best part came next with some great firm fire trails.
On of the best tracks in the area was next, with very little dust. I was behind Jacko at one stage and that DRZ was singing.
The first of the right angle sandy corners changed all that.We were now contending with the standard heavy coastal sand for quite some time.
No real dramas, although Phil did decided to get a bit close and personal to one sandy corner .I bet he had to wring that little 250 on these tracks.
Bumped into a lone rider on some monster 690 ktm looking for directions.
The return loop was uneventful with a tour through a very dusty swamp section and then back to the camp at about 2pm with exactly 98kms on the clock.
A couple of the guys shared some icy beers to wash down the dust.
I believe we all had a good ride with no injuries, and Jacko gets nominated for ROTD.
He also gets an honourable mention for best slow motion get off at the camp.
As we had not started riding, I dont think it qualifies for SOTD.
