I popped in and saw Col yesterday with H and Peter. He is in good humour but pretty beat up and will be on a long road to recovery. You can give hime a call on his mobile and I am sure he would not knock back a few visitors at this stage. It's nice to have a few mates drop by when you are laid up. Just check before you head in to RPH as he says he might even get home this week!!!!

Biggles Sun, Mar 20 2011 17:21 Diehard (12 rides) Edit Delete
Hi Col Mac, just heard about your run in with a 4wd what a bummer. But ribs heal okay so long as you don't laugh too much.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and not too long off the trails. Perhaps you can stay near the back with me in future?

WR Ross Sat, Mar 19 2011 12:22 Diehard (24 rides) Edit Delete

Sorry to hear about your accident Col. Ribs are a bugger but they're stronger than new once they heal. Having done the flail chest/punctured lung thing I worried that there would be lasting effects but I was back in action in a few months. My ribs are all joined at funny angles but I can't tell the difference :) Get well soon mate!

Oh dear. ColMcUK has been beating up others that want to share the track with him huh. Roo's didn't put up enough fight so he moved onto bigger, and more solid, things. You're getting fairly practiced at rebuilding the bod... Might be time to practice the art of dodging?
Best wishes for another recovery mate

We were disappointed it wasn't you who stepped out of the chopper, Wrex.

With Col Mc - spoke to H yesterday arvo - priority now is to stabilise his breathing as the number of broken ribs is causing problems.

He now has 115 ride points - hope we see him back in the not too distant future for number 116...

Wrex Mon, Mar 14 2011 14:49 Diehard (37 rides)
Col, Mr and Mrs Wrex send our best. We are only a call away mate and remember keep smiling.

Thanks to Jason (Slade) also - his second CQ ride and he was a great help in a bad situation - as were the two young guys from the 4WD.

Keep the get well messages flowing ...

Yes get well ColMc and a big thanks to H & TigeR for their second drive to Lano to pick up ColMc's car and drop off of his slightly bend Husaberg! The very reason we ride together and again showing the Crusty spirit!

colin Sun, Mar 13 2011 19:02 Crusty to the core (182 rides)
After a chat with Marg this arvo it looks like a long road to recovery. He is not in any position to read these post but I am sure all the good wishes will be passed on to him.

Bets of luck for a speedy recovery buddy.

Not a good day yesterday - the day we all dread.

Amazing response and support from ambos, police and chopper paramedics - these people do an outstanding job.

The big man was in a lot of pain - and will have a long road to recover from his injuries. He'll need support from his crusty mates.

Pounce Sun, Mar 13 2011 11:42 LEGEND (76 rides)
Run me down with a 4Wd once, shame on you.
Run me down with a 4WD twice, shame on me.
Run me down with a 4WD a third time...

Is it still your favourite place to ride Col?

BMWbeej Sun, Mar 13 2011 11:08 Diehard (10 rides)
Poor ol Col doesn't seem to be having too much luck!
Sounds like a reminder of how dangerous it is leading up
that way,i'm sure that is the reason i prefer single trail in the hills.Hope your alright and back on the saddle soon.

H Sun, Mar 13 2011 10:15 LEGEND (79 rides)
Very short ride yesterday but very long day............. Col Mc vs 4 x 4, with the 4 x 4 winning the dual, Col was kept in hospital overnight, he suffered a few injuries but nothing too serious........ Will post a report later.
