6kms in - big ColMc has a collision with a 4WD. Choppered out. Not good. Hope he has a speedy recovery and is back to secure his 116th ride point. A snapshot from the Messageboard... He is in good humour but pretty beat up and will be on a long road to recovery. You can give hime a call on his mobile and I am sure he would not knock back a few visitors at this stage. It's nice to have a few mates drop by when you are laid up. Just check before you head in to RPH as he says he might even get home this week!!!! Ribs are a bugger but they're stronger than new once they heal. Having done the flail chest/punctured lung thing I worried that there would be lasting effects but I was back in action in a few months. With Col Mc - spoke to H yesterday arvo - priority now is to stabilise his breathing as the number of broken ribs is causing problems. Amazing response and support from ambos, police and chopper paramedics - these people do an outstanding job. The big man was in a lot of pain - and will have a long road to recover from his injuries.
