Rider of the day lethal
Stack of the day Not awarded
An early start to the hills on Saturday with the weather report promising fine weather - and it was just that.
Jacko and i got there, and found the cars just kept coming. In the end 22, players started the day. That is a good turnout.Husky Mike volunteered sweep duty,Jacko headed off at 8.15
The tracks were in top condition, plenty of puddles and slippery mud.We got to the first regroup and had our first dnf.Gazza's KTM had no clutch fluid and had to turn back.As we had not even raised a sweat and the bikes were hardly warm a deserving tool award is presented. An uneventfull hour passed until we got to the hills. Then the carnage started.A few of the gnarly hills caught the unwary by surprise - good to watch it all from the back.
First big hill was too easy ;all made it up without a problem.Jacko then took us to the widow maker. At the back I saw Chris de Berg launch into the air and then a few other hopefulls provided some entertainment for the spectators.WR Rob was the first to look down on us from the top, then one of the younger guys Mick530 powered up to the top.Husq mike could not stop himself and had to have a go.Not pretty but got there.
The rest of the day was filled with some of the best single tracks I have seen. Then near the end, another kTM clutch failed .
Fun to ride behind someone riding in tight slippery hilly terrain with no clutch.Good effort Mick 530. Carlo started getting a tad tired, and a couple of times left his bike in a gully for the sweep.Worst bike I have ridden Carlo. LOL. I don't know how you got up those hills on the bitch.
Witnessed a couple of stacks ,but I think for something different we should let Chris de Berg and DRZ Steve share one for locking horns on a pefectly smooth bit of hill.
A couple of bruises , but nothing too serious. For ROTD I have dobbed Lethal in.I watched him at the back of the pack putting on some serious pace.Jacko put on a top ride and deserves thanks from us all.
