The Fantastic Journey

Report by Hooters

just checked and there is no report for sat. as i'm having a fair amount of couch time here's a few words. we all met at the rock inn, 12 in total names on the report. we convoyed up the road to a 'secret' park up spot got booted and pounce roosted husky mike's brand spanking new 310, top stuff! we were all told we're going all the way to the lakes so take fuel for 100km. a 200km day, wicked. booted we cruised off tommy leading mike sweeping. nice trails with tight single track creeks bogs bit of everything linked by winding dirt roads. we arrived at the 'unconquered hill' ha now conquered albeit with a bit of push and shove, but i'm still counting it! the next section was boggy with heaps of creeks that caught plenty of boys out and envolved a fair amount of of push and shove. i think it was around 11:30 biggles left us an took the quick route back to the cars. cruising on it was a in later part of this creek section that a had a stupid 1st gear crash onto some rocks after wheelie-ing thru a creek... and badly sprained my ankle. decent boots held the show together- without the right gear my foot would be cactus. we continued on to the lakes and fueled up had a pie and a breather. awesome morning ride and i was still amazed we were at the lakes- from brookton hwy!!!
part II, so off we go from the lakes back to the cars, 100km too easy. so i gave the sittin down riding style a crack- not too much fun thru the whoops ladies! 'bout an hour out we had a group up, and after 5 mins or so, pounce says, 'where's carlo?' yeah where is carlo, we had come along a section of the powerline track so figured he must be there, back track and hey there he is, thankfully he knew the rules and propped when he realised he was lost.same rules as a corner wait, wait, wait. soon after this tommy was checking on the crew thinking about a quick route back to the cars, pounce was sweeping at this stage with a bit of a jarred back and i was riding shotgun ;)!! until jason questioned my manhood and my damaged fragile ego needed stroked so f##k it game on, sitting down but! tommy (god bless his soul) took charge and made an executive desision and we bolted back to the cars (and god smiled down upon him and the irish won the rugby) thanks tommy! by the time we got to the cars my foot was shagged and i tried to man up and load my own bike but failed and cried like a wee bairn untill someone helped! one beer and i was gone, thank god henry is an auto, and thank jebus for cruise control! had a dinner out planned so on the phone to sarah "all good not in hospital but hire some crutches" she knows me well so all good! A & E bright an early sunday not broken awesome!!cheers tommy great ride cheers mike and pounce for sweeping and cheers the rest for the shits an giggles
