Allen is a Legend
Word had got around that Fueltanker Al only needed one more nick in his handlebars to rise to the ranks of Crusty Legendom. Seventeen enthusiastic Crusties heed his ride call to make sure Al would have company on his big day.

We head east then north, avoiding those woops that Al warmed us up with last trip. A bit of Pine Forrest, some hill climb fun in a quarry and some fast sand trails had smiles on everyones faces. On a limestone connect track, Mick530 comes flying past me on his back wheel. My speedo says +100 and Im suitably impressed.

Less impressive however is Micks corner man effort a bit further on which sees me enjoying a pleasant click or so of unplanned trail before Im lassoed and returned to the flock. Everyone else getting it right means nothing Mick

Didnt see it happen but arrived soon after. A tangle of bikes blocks the trail. Micks hit a rock and come down at speed. Andys too close and his bike ends up on top of Mick. SOTD for you Mick530.

A couple of flats soon thereafter provides a breather before a short run into Yanchep for fuel and standard enduro man fare of sausage rolls and satay sticks. All recharged we continue northward with some great single trail and scrubby coastal hills.

Some concerning (and expensive sounding) noises can be heard from Mick450s KTM and he suspects bottom end issues. With Tommys assistance Mick has little option but to limp to the bitumen to contemplate his new Hog Award and await collection. Paul and Karlo part ways with main group under the pretext of a short cut home and disappear into the bush. I understand their just good friends and that concern is not warranted.

Just to reinforce his authority as lead rider (and to see me cry), Al takes us home via boggy sand and whoops. Thanks to Husq Mike (who looks like a Borg with that head gear those old enough to remember Star trek will know what I mean) for sweeping most of the day, a big job with so many riders. I suspect some interesting footage will emerge to remind us of a great day on the trails.
Bikes now on trailers, Al was hoisted onto the shoulders of awestruck Crusties and carried to the OVT front bar. Here he was presented with his Crusty colours and key to the clubhouse. Beer and merriment continued well into the afternoon

Congrats Al on the milestone and thanks for leading another excellent ride in the sand - which must earn ROTD
