The whole event was spot on! The T&E Club did themselves proud again - barbie Saturday night and a top band pumping out 80s music! The catering was well received, can recommend the bacon & egg sangas! Then we can thank the Enduro Gods for pristine trails - it had rained through the week and left the tracks damp & sticky! The usual 300-400 did not show this year - may be something to do with Mother's Day? (my gift to my wife was to be away for the weekend LOL). Anyway there was just 200 riders & 20 sweeps to enjoy these mint tracks.

All I can say you should have been there with Peter, Colin, Steve & Roley! Also seen lurching in the pits was Gazza with a few mates and Biggles, looking very dashing in his uniform - you would not say no to him if he had to give you the kiss of life! LOL We also recruited a new Crusty - Kroonie(?). There may been other CQers - post if you were there.

The only down-side was I had to share a dormitory with the other two baboons and boy I can now confirm that Peter snores! LOL

This is an event you should check out if you have not been before.

From Colin -

I am not sure how many Rally's I have ridden on but I have never been disappointed. 203 riders is not too bad and there was plenty of half decent riders down there for the kick off of the new season.

JohnnyWho (cannot remember his last name) took part in Pounces big ride ad has now been added as a real Crusty. Franco has been a friend of Crustys for many years and always makes a point to say hello and hang out a bit with the CQ mob. He says he is keen to have a CQ ride and I thought it was time he got his name up in lights.

I must say there seems to be a return to smokers with lots of 200,250 and 300 oil burners as well as a couple little 150 Husky MX bikes with B class rego. The guys riding these things are the guns of the trails with the weekend warriors like most of us guys riding the big 450's. There was also a sweet looking old Maico that I have seen several times over the years at enduros and even the natural terrain. There was also a great turnout of those big yellow bikes that so many of us ride.

What a great start to the season. The two loops were superbly marked as usual and gave you a bit of everything. Dont forget the non competitive Capel rides coming up and also the night section of the Quinndaning enduro.

No off’s and perfect conditions for 120km’s of awesome trails. This was my third year in a row and is a great ride for all rider levels. As others have said, if you have never done it, do it next year. Faster riders don’t have to wait for us slowby’s and the slowby’s don’t have to worry about holding up the faster guys. Just do your own ride.
