A Rolling Ross Gathers no Moss
The most perfect hills ride day for the 7 starters.
Lead by Pounce, swept by Husq mike and WR Ross.Somewhere in between was Tommy, Wombat,Carl & Shaun. Was going to be a short little ride (never trust Pounce).All in, all about 120k's of lots of new and old single track.Lots of puddles ,some deep enough to nearly swallow a DRZ -see photo gallery. There was plenty of fun in the pack, jostling for positions .WR Ross was having a gallant effort on a dead end gnarly hill,but missed at the vinegar stroke and came rolling back down(hence the ride name) .Two of us managed to get to the top.Can't beat cubes eh Wombat. A lot of fun was had trying to fill in poor Husq mike.Unfortunately they succeeded.I have a long memory though. As the day wore on some off us were getting twitchy about fuel.Eventually Pounce decided to head back , but then found more single trail , then headed South instead of West. Quite amusing to see everyone short shifting and not racing just to conserve conserve fuel. We just made it back on fumes.A couple of pints and some pit racing to cap of a brilliant day.Thanks to Pounce for the effort and all for rolling up.       |
