Ross the Boss
Ross called a late ride (via email) in the Event Section.
6 other guys read it & showed up for a crap ride. Man this guy just doesn't know what he's doing. 120klm's of dust, rocks, ruts, dust, lots of sweet single thrown in, deep stinking swamp water, dust, more single, pea gravel, & mixtures of all the above together. Yep mud & dust on the same parts of the trail at the same time. It turned out we all had to have a go at leading, as from where we parked Ross was over ruled immediately when asked which way we were going to start with. "Na, this way's better & not as crap" After the first single trail, we have a break & everyone agrees that it a young blokes trail, we're all tired already after less than 20klm's especially the Boss who has had 5 hours sleep after a huge night out on the wine & beer. Where to now Ross? Tommy says follow me so we all shoot off again onto some more single. Look, the day goes on like the above with some other stuff thrown in. Out of the 7 guys that went, 8 others ended leading at one stage or another & Ross didn't lead at all. Now if you think my maths is wrong, well we ran into two other guys & even they lead some of the ride. There's reports of Tommy doing fully sik monos over logs & rocks. Decided to just go for it through a swamp with the pics to prove he didn't make it. Mick gets a flat tyre in his never go flat tubliss front tyre & pulls out halfway through the ride. Pounce hits a rock, goes bush, plows down a heap of trees & calmly steps off the bike & walks onto the track in front of Ross & Allen. Steve was the only one to lay his bike down today, & that's what he did, just laid it down trying to turn around. Ash not wanting to get his new boots wet, as you can see in the pic, he'd rather hump a dead tree. All in all an absolute crap ride. Never trust Ross or go on one of his calls.               |
