Started out from Bunbury catching up with Paul and Rudi and heading out to Nannup to meet up with Bunga, JNR and John390. We met at the caravan park to head out to the riding spot when we found out that John390 was all dressed up with nowhere to go as his Berg had a flat battery, and with the Berg not having a kick start, it was going nowhere fast! Unfortunately we left John390 behind and headed out to the ride spot to meet up with Peter. I took the boys out on some easy warm up trails and then headed for the hills. Threw Bunga into the deep end with a rocky hill climb to make sure his new Berg was run in. We carried on then through some good single trail and open fire trail. Took the guys to have a look at Big Bertha but no one was game enough to have a shot. It was then back to the cars for a lunch break and fuel stop. After lunch we headed out for some more single trails and a few more hill climbs. Good day out. Glorious conditions for riding. No major stacks. Local boys headed back home and the three Crusty's headed back to the caravan park for a well earned beer or two. Feel sorry for John390 and his flat battery. Am sure next time out his Berg will have a new one!
Sunday was an early rise with the kookaburras sounding off at 5.30 - 6am. Left the park at 8am and headed to a different ride spot. Took Bunga and JNR to what I call 'snotty hill' as it is just full of ruts and rocks. After making our way to the top and taking a breather, we headed off and had an awesome mornings ride picking up lots of good tracks. Back to the cars by 11.30am, packed up and headed for our respective homes.
Great to catch up other Crusty's and had a good weekend out. No SOTD and (because I can since I am doing the ride report) ROTD was Bunga for his persistence and determination in getting up the hills, even if it meant putting scratches on his new Berg.
Cheers DazzaM
