Antt did the brave thing and called a Saturday ride at the Lakes after a rainy spell.
Ten players turned up to assist Antt in having some fun, a big range of bikes and skills.
Antt led the first section of a great mixture of trails. Jacko swept up the mistakes.
The tracks were at their best with enough grip to play but enough slide to respect those who can ride fast.
RoosterMick showed his speed and skills. I don’t think his bike has a sidestand as every regroup saw him searching for unrideable tracks and stumps to ride.
Jason saw more cornerman duties than others. I’m sure I saw him at two consecutive corners. Using a switch rather than a throttle can have it’s toll on fuel and he was seen sheepishly chasing a few litres towards the end of the ride.
JNR rode smooth and fast, making sure if he made mistakes that no one saw. Good strategy.
Dazza picked a interesting day to join the boys as Tommy and Pounce had that ……gotta find a hill and cause some carnage look….Dazza did a great job covering his first time out fears. Tommy’s hill finally got the best of him and he required some friendly Crusty help to reach the top without obvious injury.
Tommy managed to slam though the same blackboy on the same hill as last week but his time managed to avoid the tree.
Pounce seemed to have mastered the orange machine and kept the front tyre wear to a minimum by lofting the front wheel whenever possible.
The Big XR was having a ball taking Cass for a ride. I can’t help thinking how hard it would be to blast a DR650 around these tracks at the speed Cass can achieve. Some awesome skills Cass!
Gotta love watching Jacko ride the track after the crew had done their worst to it. Even he was a little nervous when it was suggested we return to the hill that stole the end of his finger last year.
In the best Crusty tradition Antt got us onto some tracks and Tommy and Pounce found a way to make us feel like we were lost. At one stage I saw Antt was so stunned that he did a slow motion get off on a granite outcrop.
An outstanding ride with plenty of high spots and time to rest and meet new friends. I had a quick chat with one of the locals on a cornerman. Bears or beers, I can never tell.
The main thing is that :
No tyres were hurt on this ride.
