Just Add Water Nannup Ride
What a difference rain makes and a long weekend. Never seen the Nannup Caravan Park so full, and running into bikes out on the tracks. (You often hear them but don’t see them.) With conditions perfect for riding, Jace, myself, Pete and Pete Oldie (local riders) hit the tracks and hills. With the first hill climb out of the way, we thought we would save the next hill for doing on the way back - as it’s pretty energy sapping if you don’t make it and have to go back down and try again. Wasn’t too long before we ran into the first group of riders. After a bit of a chat with them we headed off in a different direction, going to the top of Big Bertha where we ran into another couple of riders which ended up joining us, as that was the safer option.
We all had a good time enjoying the trails thru the pines and bush, with nobody hitting the deck too hard as some sections were quite slippery and the single trails thru the pines where challenging in sections. Only drama for the day was Pete Oldie (local rider) getting a flat front, and with Jace coming to the rescue with a spare tube, Pete had it changed quickly and we were back on our way thru the trails. All in all another good day’s riding in Nannup. We only covered a small section of single trails and hills with plenty more on offer. Thanks to Jace for coming down from Perth and our regular non-Crusty Pete for leading (he knows the best tracks). Looking forward to the next ride at Nannup.
