Collie Pony Express or we could call it "WTF is coffee rock?"
Riders briefing starts with "There is a LOT of coffee rock, exposed roots and trees across tracks, but there are no danger signs...... because we didn't have enough" nervous laugh from the riders. "ignore the red arrows.....didn't have enough, so we used what we had" . another nervous laugh from the riders. Finally. "This course WILL smash you" No laughing. Giddy up, off we go, As you can imaging it was 4 hours of major rock hopping, bashing big trees and whoops. the couple of sandy sections and bog holes were a welcome reprieve from bashing bike and body all over the place. At the end of the 15k loop there were two very large jumps....I was like, What are these doing here?... I don't do jumps...luckily I was going fast enough on the way over, cause there was nothing on the other side. I landed on both wheels but some other people weren't so lucky....apparently I do jumps now. Amazing to see the air some guys were getting off these things. Any way, great experience that I don't think I will be doing again. Thanks to some cracking laps from Nathan, we got a 7th place in the vets with 8 laps. Well done to Gareth and Keith placing 11th in club man with 9 laps. Good going lads. Finally, thoughts go out the guy that got choppered out. Good luck. hope your going to be ok WRFPaul Spot on Paul COFFEE ROCKS (NOT) Had to ride in the clubman as my partner was only 36 Never seen so many rocks in my life just had my shox re valved don't know if they were any better just bounced off rocks and trees all day managed 5 laps had time for 6 but not the energy my partner was knackered after 4 but a good day overall 2 nice jumps at the finish Gareth Good stuff Paul.
