Date 21-6-2015 Riders MickKal, Biggles and Crusty Virgin Sergio SOTD Sergio The ride was called for Sunday morning at the lakes, this was for all the time poor people who couldn’t make the main event Crusty ride on Saturday. First Biggles saved the day by joining in and then Crusty Virgin Sergio from Suriname in South America (yes it is a country and I had to Google it) also joined in making up the required number of 3 riders. I noticed both Biggles and I were both 21st ride Diehards on the Crusty site so hence the name of the ride. It started to rain before we left the cars and pretty much didn’t stop until we were back at the cars. We headed off east towards Sawyers valley on some nice single tracks. Then things became very slippery, Biggles went down but nothing major. Then Sergios’ Gopro came loose so he took it off but then dropped the bike in the pines so unfortunately no footage of that one. Then we did a nice loop that Thomas had shown me previously that turned out to be the best tracks for the day. Then we headed off towards the Creek run and had a go at a couple of hills along the way. Hit the creek run and I had a near miss with a Grass tree after a deceptively deep puddle and then Biggles did the same trick but managed to finish the job properly and and actually hit the Grass tree. Headed back home via the lookout hill climb without incident until Sergio came off and also discovered just how deep some of the puddles around The Lakes can be. All up a wet 66klm with no broken bones and a good crew so a top ride. Sergio if you make a post Admin will see your name and give you a ride point   |
