Pushing Adventure bikes up
Late Adventure bike ride called Friday arvo as nothing else happening.
Leave the Bullsbrook pub at 8.30 am only 3 players so it was a quick ride up into the Avon Valley, went down to have a look at the river. Avon Decent is on in a couple of weeks & there is only a trickle. Decided to try Spencers Brook pub for lunch so went back around through Toodyay and cut through to Spencers Brook. Found a short cut through some gully's which was taking us in the right direction so we kept on following it until we got caught out on some snotty loose gravely rocky hills, ok on a dirt bike but too much for adventure bikes all the bikes hit the ground as we were trying to push them up. Took us around an hour to get the bikes up then we had to get down the other side. I gave up & got Ross to get my bike down. We should have been at Spencers Brook pub around 12ish but didn't get there till 2, so much for a short cut. A burger & a pint and called it a day. |
