Not the september sleepout
Date 27/Aug/16
9 Riders Gareth, Hooters, husq mike, mick450, Pounce, Slates, Tui, WRRob, X
Rider of the day Not awarded
Stack of the day Gareth
HM's slant on Sat sleepout which was not a sleepout.

Does not get much better than this.Pounce stitched together one of the best loops we have had for a while.I think over 80k's.
9 of us rocked for what looked like it was going to be wet ride.
Not much rain but plenty of water holes.Made for some brilliant riding conditions.
I don't think anyone got home dry(especially after the river crossing).
Too many many highlights to list all.Gareth deserves several awards.I will let the ride report writer list them.
Hooters in fine form wheelied across a deep puddle trying to drown all.
I am not sure how much help he would have got if he fell off.
I followed WR rob into a creek bed and hit hard. After sooking around for a while i nothingt broken ,so back to it.
Good to see another token Kiwi.Welcome back Tuey.

The Pre-ride
September sleep out - which was in August
Scheduled for the 28th but was starting on the 27th
It was on, it was cancelled and then postponed.
I had to google what funny faced emoji's meant.
I have still got no clue what happened but lying in bed last night listening to the wind and rain I was happy with the end result.

The Ride

Wow, wow and wow, Pounce delivered big time (with the help of the weather gods)
I was going to do a list of the different terrain that we covered but it is easier to say we had everything + ground water (and lots of it)
It was cold and wet to start and goggle demons were at play (my mojo was seriously hiding)
A trick learned from Rob, blowing goggles off on the exhaust, was a god send.

Semi-drowned bikes, fully drowned riders, lots of laughs, a few spills, everyone safely back at the cars for a beer, what more can you ask for.
Thanks to the sweep, he did an amazing job - oh shit that me haha.
Thanks Pounce, when it comes to leading rides - you seriously are the man.
Not a bad photographer either - nice pics.
