Tony - I am off to Bali and will have to miss out on this one so you better find a partner for Brownie!!!
To the Mid-West and Southern Crusties who are thinking of coming to the Geraldton MX Club Pony Express you will be in for something special. A few of us marked out the track today, rolling grass hills, ledges, loam, dry creek beds, tight single track, water crossings, fire breaks and a fast rocky downhill to sort you out. Around 17Km loop and a big contrast to the M.O.R terrain. More rain forcasted with perfect temps for riding over next weekend.
The grass is green and definately no dust.
Excellent spectator viewing points.
All welcome.

I also just got an email from IARC and the entries for the next Capel ride on the 5th September will be open "in a couple of weeks". I am home for it and will be going for sure.

Hey Hooters!
I will confirm, but I believe there is one on the 8th August.
This will be at a Station (Lynton) near Port Gregory. Supposed to be good country. Will find out more and post details.
Plans for 2 more before seasons out as well.
One Mullewa way and one south of Dongara.

Evening all,
Recently the crustyquinns site moved from a free hosting service to a paid hosting service. All good things come to an end - we now have to fork out some $s to keep this site "on the air".
I know there's a whole bunch who have already donated some dosh to Pounce, particularly on the West Coast ride ... but there's plenty more out there who haven't had the chance ... until NOW!.
If you would like to contribute some $s then send me an email (see this link TigeR for the email address) and I'll give you the BPay details to deposit the money directly to Westnet from the comfort of your keyboard.
Don't wait for somebody else to do it ...
Tanks!
Cheers Pounce, that was pretty quick.
Do I get an extra point as well?
Thailand is on!
Mick & I fly out Dec 19th
Return on Jan 3rd
Husq Mike has said he's interested.
Robyn said Roley can come.
Email me or Mick for more details.

Awesome Night and Day ride at Quindanning, them LED lights worked a treat!! Thanks for the good company Hooters and Tommy and well done Biggles and the rest of the T&E Club for putting up and organising a great event!
Quite dissapointed at the number of Crusties that didn't make it this year!
Quindanning was great the lights worked perfectly and came off with only one cap head screw to remove after the night ride. The day ride was excellent with plenty of varied terrain to keep you alert as the day went on the rocks got more exposed and the white paint disappeared then there were lovely open fields( paddocks ) to let rip across. All night laps done and all day laps done hard work but good fun. Thanks Hooters ,Tony and Biggles for the crack.
Well done again by the T&E
great weekend away awesome track heaps of laughs and beer...perfect!! thanks to the t&e. worth mentioning that every event you can ride till you've had enough, just make sure you hand your card in! so if you're worried bout fittness, dont! have a go. but you do have to put up with the heckling for the early knock off lol!!!
day 2: pretty lazy start after breaky we had a 1/2 hr work period to remove lights fuel etc then changed and into it. but with daylight, wicked! the 2 night loops were joined and we were to do 4 plus the special test great track but tony and i bailed round noon after 2 loops no trophys for us but great weekend. "tommy the hard arse" kept going and was looking sharp when he flew past while we were packing up (and drinking ha ha!!) tony pointed out the bmw crusty and biggles was there organising, but i think that was it for the crustys...
A few photos on the gallery from Quindanning today, Hooters, Tommy and Tony had a great ride in excellent conditions both during the night and day rides. The new lights were a great success and kept the boys on track.
There were around 75 riders including two teenage girls. Most of the course was fast and flowing with a few short single trails, a few rocks, a bit of sand, a bit of everything really.
The night was cold but not too bad, but the fires were roaring and there may have even been a party or two going.
One rider arrived in the pits complaining, not my day he said, gearbox trouble. Your chains a bit slack, I said mmm and theres no teeth on your front sprocket (I really mean no teeth) and your rear sprocket is stuffed too.
I don't think you have gearbox problems, just no drive train... :-)
The night day ride is perfect for a Crusty get together, keep an eye out for next years.
...mainly tight single track. tommy started 15min before us and tony and i rode together picking up a tail, young guy with balls of steel who rode about 3 laps of the required 5 just using our lights and riding 3m behind tony!! when we got back tommy was already changed and had a coldie for us, that was about 9:15 so just over 3hrs, lucky kiwis are nocturnal! beers and lies followed till late round the fire. oh by the way if you need a fire but aren't too fussy bout eyebrows, hair, neighboors call "tommy the pyro"
quindanning night/day enduro report:
tony and i packed up bout 1pm on sat and headed down south towards quindanning, we had arranged to catch tommy on the way thru armadale and convoy down together. we were a wee bit late lucky tommy was parked next to a pub. quick trip down and we arrived with about 15min to spare to enter etc. we pitched camp in the trees and got changed to be ready to ride at about 6pm. the night was chilly but clear, bit of dust but perfect really. night riding a first for me made easier by our flash led lights (cheers troy) great trails a few wide open sections but...
Well Quindanning lived up to expectation,a great event
with a bit of everything. The night section was good
as it wasn't too cold, definitely needed the bon fire afterwards though!Trail times were pretty tough as there was a bit of dust around.Knackered now must rest!!
Yes Jacko, and they have always been very reliable, freight is about $80, so as long as you need a few items, it still works out well. The O ring chain (on a different page) that I got was the $49.95 one, and it has been good.
XRChris.
Ballards have tail light lenses for the beast for $15.
Photo in the gallery from yesterday.
thanks darin, some good stuff in there. that reusable dry air filter looks good, might give it a go.
I have only been gone 7 out of 28 days and already looking forward to getting home and riding!
The T&E site list another Capel ride on the 5th September but nothing is on the IARC site? I see they did 2 last year. When do they open entries?
21 days to go.........
who knows where to get the best deal on sprockets and chain for the drz?
