Thanks for the great ride guys! Thanks to Darin for organising/leading and Roley and Tiger for sweeping. Special thanks to Tiger who rode at a very leisurely pace behind me for the last hour as I nursed by leg home. The leg is looking a bit worse for wear today after the dingle with Tommy but apart from havimg a purple thy and arse and a comedy limp there don't appear to be any lasting injuries :) Congrats on Tommy on becoming a legend, it's not everyday you get taken from behind by a legend :)
See you next time.

 |
Interesting choice of line through the puddle Steve. I do admire the way you parked your bike and got Tommy to retrieve it. Nice one!

Col. +/- 19 (Edit 21)months averaging nearly 3 (edit 2.4)rides a month - impressive.
(sorry did the original Maths too early)
|
 |
Sorry Darin and Tommy, but taking 2 years to get to 50 rides doesn;t come close to my record i am afraid! Still a damn fine effort all the same.
Then again my 100-150 rides could end up being the slowest!!!!
Oh and Roley is milking it for all its worth at home, with his sore knee.

Thanks for turning up for the ride guys, I really enjoyed being out there today. The only downer was Roley hurting his Knee and him and Steve having to leave early. I hope it is nothing serious and it mends quickly. Congrat's to Tommy who rode his 50th today and becomes a Legend. (with some speculation he may have the fastest 50 ever)
I hope everyone got back in time to vote.
|
 |
Great ride Darin, excellent tracks and outstanding leading.
Well done Tommy...50 today.
Thanks for sweeping Roley and TigeR.
Thanks for the drenching Ross, kept my mind on the job.

DRZ Steve - We dont call and let anyone know there is a ride coming up. You need to keep your eye on the events section and then simply turn up for a ride. Don't ask for directions to the ride site on the message board, give some one a call for more info.

A few photos up from Darin's Explore! I am home early from the ride with probably SOTD! Thanks to the CQ support from Darin, TigeR and Steve.
I was in the "Zone" minding my own business as the Sweep, may be a little too confident with my Dyno Time improved suspension, when I came down on a corner hyperflexing the right knee & busted the cluch lever! Luckily the Sweep (me) was on hand - righted the bike and replaced the lever before Darin & TigeR found me. Steve and I then rode home via Metro Ride. Still beats mowing the lawn but may need a medical check! Bugger!

On Sat. I am going to plot a new route from Metro's to Bannister. It is going to be a very slow ride (should I say slower than normal) with lots of stopping to look at/input info. into the gps and more than likely some back tracking. I will be leaving later than normal and from a new parking. Depending on time I may do the return trip on council dirt roads.
+/- 80kms to fuel depending on how lost I get and about 150kms all up.
I am going on my own if need be, but if anyone is still keen after reading the above, send me an email.
|
 |
Val and Andrew, i would think it will be 2-3 weeks away, depending on what the Dr says on Thursday. I am going to have a secret ride at the old tip first and see how that goes and then straight into a Wedge run.
I'll know more in a week'ish!

Great weekend Pounce.
Perfect conditions, no dust, few puddles, although a little cold.
Good mix of trails and hills.
Thank pounce and mick for leading, tommy for sweeping and chris for keeping the fire going while we were on the night ride.
Lights worked great wrex, well done. You will have to wait for the next one.
Ill be there.
Interested in the beginer ride, got a mate that might be keen. Any chance of it being after capel as planning to go there.

Ever thought about buying a vintage dirt bike and riding in the vintage MX events or even an old enduro to get around on at the adventure rally or down at Capel. Check this site out - click on the left side on vintage mx bikes and be amazed at what these guys import. It sure brings back some memories just looking at the pics of the bikes.

Col Mac, as Roley said, I'm up for a beginner's ride, either with the new Katy or my existing ride (don't get the Katy back for a few weeks as she is being cut down to size) - depending on when you go. Pretz has committed to being my personal sweep (well I have committed him) - so I have my buddy sorted!
I think Tiger should buddy up Mrs Tiger too *nudge, nudge* :-)

Thanks for an awesome weekend guys! Damn that was great!!!
First of all, Pounce and Mick thank you for leading the group.
Great tracks and fantastic scenery!
Thanks Tommy for sweeping and bring me home safely.
It is nice to see KLXPete riding and I learned a lot from his riding style! I mean most of the time he was behind me HAHA.
Thank you Ross for the gravel in my face. But it doesn't hurt because I eat gravel every morning... Try it with mud HAHA
Oh... And special thanks for the tape mick, you safe my life.
You can't pay for weekends like this!!
Thanks Guys

G'Day Guys
Just sitting at London airport and a bit bored so checked out the CQ site to see what has been happening since I had a fall and couldn't ride and then had to haul my torn achilles around the world on holidays before an operation to fix it.
I was browsing through the menu and noticed the top 4 SOTDs - whilst I can explain why the top three have crashed because of the number of rides I was amazed to see "Why Me" Carlo has a crash every 3 rides - my question is "Why Carlo"?
My stat is one every 13, Colin one every 22 and BigMac 1 every 15.
Rank Player SOTDs SOTDs per Event (Events)
1 peter 11 0.07 147
2 Carlo 9 0.24 37
3 Colin 8 0.04 180
4 Colin McCaughey 7 0.07 107

A big thanks to Pounce, Mick,Tommy and the crew for a great Trail Blazing Weekend. It was some of the best single trails I have ever ridden.
Pounce's navigation skills were impeccable, Mick needs to look at getting a mini dozer blade mounted on his stead and Tommy was always there to lend a tube or pick up the carnage on the hill climbs.
Pete didn't needed a headlight for the night ride as his front wheel hardly touched the ground all weekend. Chris never let the XR650 get the better of him and had it singing to his tune by the end of day 2. Andrew and Ross set a new benchmark for consistence and never put a foot wrong. Bruce experinced a momentary cramp in his right hand on the night ride and darted off into the darkness of the bush on full revs, and a lesson learnt for me is to get a F***ing bigger pump for inflating tyres or at least some of those CO2 bottles.
Awesome ride, Thanks.
Photo of Mick dazed and confused after his stack will be posted soon.

Bugger I knew I would miss a good one with Pounce's camp out! Some good photos - I particularly like Pounce taking the action shot lying down!
ColMc I know Val (Mrs Pretz) is keen for a beginners shortly to Wedge to give her newly acquired KTM 200 at test ride! It would be good to partner up a beginner with a more experienced rider as we have done in the past.
