Report by JAW:

You just can't get a better day for a summers ride. Temperature under 30°C, overcast and even a bit of rain. Only enough to keep the dust down for 15 minutes though...

Although JB had been up twice already it was never on a reported ride so it's finally good to see him in the news. Sporting his brand spanker KTM450 he's crossed over from two stroke land to four. Mostly because he is stepping down from motocross and into the enduro scene - so registration, range and more polite manners is useful in a bike.

"Still too heavy" he tells us ;)

Out in the back paddocks, still looking fire ravaged.

Andy is keen for a sandy hill climb out in the back paddocks. Tim426 leads the way. Mik and JAW hadn't been that way for a while, mostly because they didn't like bumping into the land owner. No suprises, the players bumped into the land owner...

Andy has a bit of a yarn to him and grabbed his phone number. "I'll give you a call if I see your cows south of the fenceline" (they have been eating grass dumped by lawnmowermen near the end of marmion ave.) "No worries".

Usual rules from Farmer Alan. "Don't make new tracks, don't cut my fences". He's got a 99 year lease on the land; it's not him sitting on a fortune it is the government. Did you hear that, no new tracks, hmm Andy?...

After a few runs up the sandy incline it is about then that JAW discovers one of the batteries in the camera is dead flat. Won't be any more pictures today lads :(

Tim at the end of the day.

The players hit the track. The Time Trial Track. Rivalry between Tim426 and Andy is rife but it is a non event between JAW and Mik today. JB is still not allowed to roll his wrist past the halfway mark.

Tim426's entry into S2MC and a lovely lead on the final run home earns him Rider of the Day.

Some generally good riding for the rest of the day. Wolfies Agility course with the infamous where's-the-track-gone? slope is performed and then on up to the obligatory stop at the tanks. Back to the Alkimos and you just try keeping Mik away from the dune jump. You've never seen a little old two fiddy thrown so hard into the air.

Bringing it home the players meet back at CQHQ for a yarn before parting ways. Good riding everyone.

All over.

Now the observant reader may have noticed some new stats on top of the page. JAW has equipped his bike with a pushbike speedo, capable of 300kph ;) At the end of the day it gives interesting statistics such as trip distance, trip time (ie how long the front wheel was spinning) Vave (Speed average) and Vmax (Top speed).

The statistics don't lie. You might think you were riding for 5 hours, but your front wheel might only have been spinning for 2. You think you hit 140 down the back straight but it was only 110kph. You might think your average speed was 60kph but no, it was 30. These stats will be posted when available, although it comes only from JAWs bike it is still a good indicator of how the day went. Call it a reality check ;)
