Trail Report: 5th March 2005
Report by Rob The first of the March rains fell overnight so what better reason needed to head out on the bikes. Did the Quinns to Alkimos ride first, with the Moose Mountain visit first up. Add another 2 (Cliff & Gazza)names to the 'did not complete' pile. heh. Cliff even picked up SOTD on the way back down for a trip over the bars. Nath made it up with his bike in supermoto/no grip trim which was pretty impressive. Did the usual stop at the Alkimos there for a moment to watch Nath do some jumps, then headed to the tanks at Yanchep for a look at the bikes, and to exchange "hot tips" on bike prep. Nath managed to take the lead for a few km's, and had a very nearly head on crash with a guy coming the other way on a 125 smoker. Just a timely reminder to be aware of traffic. The agility course was deemed too nasty to try after the first bad bit (and that looked easy) so we followed the inland route. Headed back to the Alky for a few photo's, then went and mapped out the time trial course for the new fella's. A little too busy traffic wise to start cutting laps we agreed, so headed along the coast, and back out through my favourite Eglington Hill run. Great day for it, and a great riding pace the whole trip. ROTD for mine goes to Gazza. Good solid riding all morning. Good stuff. Gazza. Cliff. Nathan. Bikes on Alkimos Hill. |
