Mik being a bit strapped for cash came across what was affectionately referred to as "The Hog" for $100. A stripped down "bush-pack" edition of the 1981 Yamaha SR185 road bike - complete with road tyres - gave him heaps of fun but had a lot of problems. It was basically totalled when it dropped a valve in lancelin, but Brad put a new valve in it and got it going again. That was short lived when it seized on its return ride. It was placed high on The Old Alkimos Windmill forever to be a historical landmark; but was cut down and stolen a few months later. It's current location is unknown.
In a desperate attempt to get a semi-decent bike to return to riding without spending any money, the next unit was an XLX not running. Suffice to say, it never ran even after much mucking around - but that's okay, he moved on to JAW's old XR250 when JAW upgraded to an XR600.
