Lano - Cervanties
10 riders braved the wet and cold conditions to ride yet another Lancelin to Cervanties trip. Deets led the boys on a top ride keeping the pace fast and furious most of the way. Deets picked up ROTD. On the beach section just after Wedge, Cliff clipped another bike during an overtaking exercise and came down hard landing with the bike on top of himself. He of course picked up SOTD.
 The riders gather at the Lano off road carpark.  The new player Grant on board his KX200. The riders came across the army boys doing a bombing excercise and were told they had to wait an hour to get through. A quick vote and it was decided to shoot back to the cars, refuel and then head on back. That would chew up some time and at least they were still riding. Col was upfront at this point and nearly took out the front of an Army 4 X 4. On the return leg they come across the same problem and had to wait another hour. This time they decided to just sit and wait and talk about bike stuff.  Waiting for the army boys to stop bombing. The pace was even quicker for the last 20 k's but everyone got home safe with the bikes intact. One section of dune trails saw three riders down within a few meters of each other. The pic below is of Grant getting some help to pick up his bike.  Everyone had a blast on todays ride and can't wait for next weekend to get out there and do it all over again. |
