Metro Ride
What started out to be a top days riding ended in disaster when Pete who was leading came around a bend and lost control on some loose gravel. Pete was on the ground holding his arm and asking the rescue team to get his helment off. It didn't take too long to work out that Pete had some serious injuries. He was in a lot of pain, given a couple of pain killers and a few of the boys went off to get help while the rest stayed to comfort him.
 Pete straight after the crash - Just waiting for the pain to kick in.  Pete's new bionic arm. Pete was finally loaded aboard the help vehicle after about a 45 minute wait. Pete was admitted to hospital and at this point it looks as though he will need a few operations to rebuild a completely shattered elbow. He also has a large gash in his leg and lots of bruising all over. Of course Pete picks up SOTD.  And of course the rest of had a normal ride. Here is Dingo checking out how deep the mud was.  Roley at the bottom of the hill climb riding in a rut big enough to swallow the bike. |
