15 riders turned up for a ride from Sawyers Valley down the power lines to Lakes Road house and return hosted by the guys from Perth Street Bikes. The boys gathered at 10.00 for a gentlemens ride through some great country over gravel, rocks, mud, water and even sand. The access track is quite cut up in spots due to the high volume of 4 x 4 traffic but that only makes for a better ride. One of the new guys,Phocks, picked up stack of the day after coming down hard and loosing a bit of skin here and there.

THE RIDERS GATHERED AT THE SAWYERS VALLEY TAVERN AT 10.00 AM.

THE PSB BOYS MEET THE CRUSTY'S

Riders of all level tested themselves today over some occassionly demanding terrain. Those bloody green bikes gave us the most trouble though!! One of the boys on his KDX went for a swim and unfortunately the bike swallowed a few litres of water and it took some time to drain it off.

THE KDX GETS TIPPED ON ITS BACK WITH THE PLUG OUT, FILTER REMOVED AND TURNED OVER UNTIL THE WATER STOPPED FLOWING.

OF COURSE THE LITTLE SL 230 DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS GETTING THROUGH AND ACTUALLY RODE BACK AND FOURTH A FEW TIMES.

The ride was long and hard for some boys. On the way home the group had to wait a ffew times while a few track side repairs were carried out. Of course the "other" green bike needed a plug change a couple of times throughout the ride and the big DR came down breaking off the clutch lever. While the boys fixed their bikes, others just lay down and rested.

HE LOOKS LIKE HE CAME OFF AT 120 KPH BUT HE DIDN'T. HE IS JUST RESTING.

PBS

ROLEY SHOWING THE BOYS HOW TO CROSS A MIGHTY RIVER. COME ON DON'T LAUGH - HE IS ON FARM MACHINERY.

AFTER A LONG RIDE ACROSS SOME TOUGH TRAILS THE BOYS SAT BACK AT THE LAKES ROAD HOUSE FOR SOME WELL DESERVED TAKEAWAYS.

Keeping 15 riders with various levels of ability together is a challenge for any group. Some of the boys were new to the cornerman system and I must say it failed a couple of times when the cornerman left his post before the sweep arrived and the rest of the group went in the wrong direction. Remember guys - we ride together to look after each other.

The Crusty boys had a blast riding with the PSB boys and have now invited then along for a Crusty ride. Check the message board fellows and come and join in.

Until next time - Keep the bike upright.
