Metro Road.
12 die hards turned out to brave the elements. The heat was turned up a couple of notches and the dust was thick. We mostly rode goat trails with Howard (ROTD) leading the first loop and Tiger riding sweep. It was a bit much for some of the guys and after a BBQ lunch we were down to 9 for the second loop with KXSteve up front most of the way and Col tagging along at the rear.
There were a few good offs today. One if the new CQers GregYZF took on a log on his YZF and the log won. I didn't see it but was told it was quite spectacular. After a few minute rest to make sure nothing broke, he sprang to his feet and said, "OK guys, lets get on with it" - Another bloody idiot like the rest of us. He picked up SOTD for his efforts. The regulars like Craig and Steve525 rode well without incident. Azza felt the heat and had a few problems breathing in the thick dust but carried on to ride at a good pace, true CQ style. Col had a dismount over the bars and ended up with a corked thigh. David and Shaun kept good pace with Shaun showing some top riding skills. David also felt the heat saying he was almost throwing up in the helment on the return leg. No ride pics to add today however KXSteve got some helment cam footage that we should all be able to see later. |
