Lano - Cataby - Wedge - Lano.

6 riders turned out to try the new ride from lano, up near Wedge and then across to Cataby. The boys loved it. The tracks are fast flowing and best of all unpredictable. There is hardly any limestone cap rock, a few small dunes and plenty of jumps. The ride still needs some tweaking to find some tracks to avoid a few k's of gravel road and the 9 k's of tar on the brand highway but a little more exploring should sort that out.

Roley came along and rode sweep on the new DRZ and had a smile on him from ear to ear, especially every time he pushed that magic button and fired up the big 400. The boys voted him ROTD for bring it home with out a scratch on it.

Clive cam down hard on a old bog hole that had turned to rock, taking his front wheel out and landing heavily on his side. He picked up SOTD for his efforts. He also picked up a front flat only 20 k's into theride but after a quick stop and a new tube we were all on our way again.

Steve, Grant and Craig were all riding like madmen today. I tried to stay with them a few times but thought that a 100 kph on windy dirt tracks just about fast enough for me. I could see their dust of in the distance most of the time but that was about it.

At one regroup, Craig noticed Steve's chain looked pretty slack. A closer inspection found the rear axle nut had come undone and the back wheel was just flapping about between the swing arm. Only minutes before, Steve was popping high speed wheelies and tearing along like he was in a special test.

The ride was voted a winner and is defiantly a good alternative to Cervantes.
