It had to be done. As we are getting a little sick of the same rides, a group of guys decided to head up to Cervantes and find the tracks that lead to Jurien. The fist few k's were a breeze and then we hit the dunes. As dunes move, the tracks get covered over and disappear. We found ourselves on the top of dunes with no way to get down the steep sides.

A bit of back tracking on each ocassion and trying out different other ways found us slowly progressing up the coast. The tar road road between Cervantes and Jurien is only 24 k's. This trip took up about 2 1/2 hours to do. We actualy left home at around 8.00 and got home about 6.30pm. It was a long day.

The tracks are great as long as we can find our way again. Pete's got a bread crumb trail on his new GPS so as long as he is there we will be fine. A gave Pete ROTD for his huge efforts in the mighty XTrail and going where no man had ever gone before. Except of course every 4 x 4 before us.

There is a river a few k's short of Jurien that was closed at the mouth and was easy to cross however I don't know if it is open all year around. Even if its not we can follow the river up the the tar and go around it.

Stand by for a big ride from Lano - Cataby - Wedge - Cervantes - Jurien and return. We also checked out the caravan park that has some nice challets that will work out about $30.00 a head with a tav across the road.
