Metro Road.

The Pony express had been postponed one more week. The rain had fallen in Perth and after a very long break of wet whether, the boys were keen on a Metro Road run. 9 riders turned out for what could only be described as perfect riding conditions. The dust was gone, the sky was blue and the temperature was cool. It doesn't get much better than that.

KXSteve lead most of the ride with Grant taking a turn up front and Pete coming up the rear riding sweep. KXSteve set a good pace and found some really good new fast trails and more goat tracks. He picked up ROTD for his efforts. This was one of the fastest Metro rides I think I have been on.

In the group, the boys were mixing it up with the Father and Son team of John and Pointer enjoying some racing, in and out of corners. Pointer said he could have taken John at any time but did not want to push him because he didn't want to be in the shit from his misses if he took John home hurt. Steve 525 was taking every opportunity at improving his wheelies skills.

Grant picked up the SOTD award. I came around a corner to find John and Pointer running over to Grant who was lodged between some trees, lying across a log with his bike laid across him. Pointer grabbed the bars to pick the bike up and didn't realise John was also helping with the lifting. The bars ended up in Pointers crutch but they did manage to get Grant up. He said he didn't know what happened except some trees come up quick and he hit them.

Craig rode like a mad man. He was up on those pegs and riding like he was in a special test. Just when you thought you were riding quick, around the outside went a KTM in camouflage gear. On one very long sections of sandy whoops (at least a k or two) Craig put his arse back on the seat, turned on the gas and showed some good overtaking of guys who thought they were getting over them pretty quick.

The day was topped off with a BBQ at the finish of riding. Everyone other than Steve 525 through standard sausage on the plate. Steve picks up eater of the day. He threw on this thing that almost looked rude. It was a foot long, big fat Ding sausage held together with string that his old man had made. That was cooked up, put between a role and consumed before you could say Jack Robinson. Thanks to everyone again for a great ride and looking after each other as Crusty Quinns do.

Lunch and a chat about the days riding.
