A small group turned out for what ended in being one of the best Powerline runs I have been on. The air was brisk and perfect for a ride. The boys followed Grant down the rocky, water rutted tracks towards the east and a nice easy pace was set. There were a few small offs on the way including Jenko, Peter and Col Mc. I spotted Jenko sliding sidewards down a pea gravel track next to his KXF and a decent bruise on his thigh by the end of the day found him winning the SOTD award. Col Mc stepped off a couple times on some rocky climbs and Pete tried to swim across a water crossing.

Mik came along again on Pete's old DR and started at the back of the field as he didn't want to get in the way of the faster riders. It didn't take him long to get into the swing of things before he was taking his turn up front of the group (behind Grant)and even getting away from some of the boys on much newer machinery. His huge efforts earned him ROTD award. He was pretty knackered by the time we got back to the cars though.

Down at the end of the line, the boys rode the old stream track. There is a pretty well defined trail there now that winds in and out the stream with some great berms, mud holes and plenty of straights to wind it out. Peter, Roley, Mik and Grant all had a go at getting their bikes bogged. Roley got a shot of Grant bogged but the one we missed was Roley's DRZ stuck up to his tank with his knees in the mud. That took Pete, Col and Roley to drag it out.

The group then headed back to the Lakes Road House for a much deserved meal and a refuel before tackling some great goat trails that the boys found out there recently. The mob then headed back towards the cars and the speed increased somewhat. It's always a mad dash for the last few k's home and with the track ahead being mostly rocks the only way to go is over the top as quickly as you can go. Back at the trailers, John said it was one of the better rides he had up there and all the boys agreed. Thanks for another terrific ride fellows.
