Rider of the day DRDan
Stack of the day Biggsy
Guys the ride was one of those rides that is hard to explain - it took longer and was physically harder than any other ride on exactly the same terrain. Mayber it had more to do with the number of 4x4s and quads (one was a convoy of about 8 quads and another had about a dozen cars!) on the tracks which meant a slower ride and you then really feel every bump.

Thanks to Wolfie, Brad and DavidM for sharing the lead ride position on such a dangerous ride with so much on the tracks.

It hasn't been since Dingo had his first ride at Pippi and came off 59 times that we have seen a rider come down in the thick sand so many times - not 59 times but hell I started to feel sick every time I saw him go over - I lost count but give him his credit he got up everytime and kept going - pretty bloodly good for a 170 km ride onb a heavy Honda 400. Good on ya Biggsey you get "Stack of the Day".

Rider of the day goes to DrDan for only coming to grief once when he hit the "quicksand" section of seaweed and sunk to the seat (no nepotism here!)

Another highlight was a chat to Ranger Steve who informed us that the Rangers kept an eye on our web site - he informed us that the general view of the Rangers was that the Crusties were OK - good news thanks Ranger Steve - we need to keep up this good image by not riding on walk trails, not leaving rubbish anywhere and riding registered bikes.

Any Rangers reading this report - we need some areas where enduro type riding is set up with a few 50 km or 60 km loops marked one way only (cramped riding areas in the Pines is too dangerous and a lot of riders want to have a long ride not ride around in circles with a bunch of idiot on 2 strokes not wearing helmets). A few bins provided to put rubbish in, some nice scenery and everyone will be happy and people will avoid the "no go" areas. Maybe a section of catchment area or state forrest could be set aside - or maybe a Shire close to Perth could decide on some tracks enduro riders could use - think of the money by way of petrol and food that would be spent at the local servo and deli.

Also a reminder to all old and new riders - fit heavy duty tubes ! Also remember to take a spare tube, tools and a pump - as usual between the group we had all the necessary to get Frank going again.

Saturdays ride is best described by the guys comments after the ride - more photos soon!

Frank - "Thanks Crusty's for a great ride yesterday. I'm walking around like an 80 year old today but had heaps of fun especially the difficult beach section. Thanks heaps to Wolfie the team mechanic for the tube and tyre change and Gareth for the lift. Biggsy hope your not to sore from all those falls.

DavidM - "Should be game for a ride next Saturday. Good ride yesterday despite the 4*4 freeway. Ribs are bit sore this morning where the bike landed on me. I was going good until then too". DavidM claimed a spectacular crash in the bush but we didn't see it so you miss out.

Wolfie - "frank if you feel like an 80 year old,how do you think biggsey is feeling? he can not even rember how many stacks he had!! well guys we left about an hour and half after every one, biggsey got stuck,so we dug him out, then we got bogged as well, right up to the axle, got draged out by a 4bie,on ya mate. great ride guys, see ya next time"

Biggsey - "Great ride friday lads, its now Sunday morning and i still cant walk. gotta get more practice in real soft sand. Thanks Brad for getting me off the beach when i was too knackered to start the bike, and again to you and Wolfie when i bogged the van.I learned a hell of a lot,got a lot of real good advice and have still got the s#%t eating grin on my face, good stuff. Cheers"

When i left had to keep speed up thru sand coz was v.soft, spewin to hear some got bogged."couple memorable moments from ride: DH in 4x4 bogged on 1st bit of sand at back of wedge, watchin brad lock up an slide into bushes to miss 4x4(did well), ranger monitoring us, dan puttin drz into seaweed knee deep, the tyre change(never heard so much bs in 20 min), col mc with no shirt on, boobies at wedge(not cols either), david settin sweet pace on way back while still havin his own near miss with a KX, david givin fuel to CR while his stoner mate hid his RM in the bushes, surely they didnt make it to either lano or wedge(prolly still lost now an still cant find RM), myself runnin out of fuel an just makin back to car on dead empty. couple pics in gallery
