A T & E season would not be complete without a night enduro down on Munday's farm near Quindanning. A small group of CQer's made the trip down on Saturday arvo, set up the best camp down there and settled in for the night. The baboons, David, Scot and Fiona all took on the night ride challenge while Craig decided to pike out, KXSteve slipped into a few to many bourbons (and got pissed) and Steve525 just limped around with a broken ankle from a recent Pony express.

Camping CQ style. With three marquees now the boys can stay dry no matter how hard it rains.

After the night challenge the boys get in close to the fire. The temperature had dropped off and it was getting cold. Notice KXSteve being a little silly - Not bad for a non-drinker.

The day ride is was just one of your run of the mill 4 loop enduros with a timed special test on the last three laps which ultimately provides the results for the place getters. The allowed time to complete the first lap was not too bad with everyone achieving an under time loop. The time dropped off for the last three laps and as the laps dwindled so did your ability to make it under time. Pete and Roley only managed 2 laps, Col and Craig did three with David (The die hard enduro man) completing the four laps under time. I am not sure how well Scot and Fiona did. The rain stated to come down before the end of the third lap making the already slippery surface even harder to ride on. I don't know about the others and although there were some great loamy sections with plenty of grip, I found a lot of the loop pretty slippery.

David picked up SOTD. Trying to overtake Roley on the tail, another rider got involved and David hit him, coming down and breaking off his brake lever. He managed the last couple of laps without front bakes and still managed to do it under time. I gave Roley the ROTD for his great efforts leading the baboons around the night challenge. Following farm machinery around with night plough lights setup sure makes it easier.

Would I do it again. Sure would. For you guys who enjoy a CQ ride and have not tried out the enduro stuff, these T & E events are only as hard as you make them. Checkout their site, ask some questions and get your forms in. There is still a couple of great events on for this season including the Capel ride which is just a big non timed trail ride, pretty much like a CQ run around Metro for the day but you get to ride somewhere different.
