Report by Col

The weather continues to be mild and with a long range forecast of 24 and showers, Choko calls a Power lines run. Two days later he post another message with some pretty bad excuse and bails leaving the group alone and feeling down. Rocco also bails going out in sympathy with the little "I'll call a ride and then not show" fellow.

The no show of these two aboard their DRZ's did not stop another 12 riders for turning out and having a blast. Col lead the group out from the Lakes, across to the Power line, down to the creek and along the length of the creek heading east. Pounce and Beau took over at that point and lead down a few goat trails and down to the section in the creek where the boys like to have a jump or two. There was a nice size loop taken in before heading back to the start of the Power line and then off onto the faster fire trails behind the Power line and home.

We had a couple of GPS's out with us today but there is absolutely no substitute for knowing your way around. Pounce did such a good job making sure we had a great ride he picked up the ROTD award. Upon a re- group not too far from home Pounce showed me some of his body armour hanging from his bike and told me how he had come down hard in front of a few of the boys. Excellent job big fellow, that's another point with the SOTD award.

We had a couple of new faces out again today. Pretz bought along a mate of his Pat for his first ride. Pat says he had a top ride and can't wait to get out again. Two other new guys who found us on the net came along. Wesley who has plenty of talent riding one of those funny Honda thingys and his mate Stef on Craig's old WR250. Both the new lads had a good ride and commented on how well the corner man system worked with a group of that size. Hope to see you new guys out again in the near future.

The rest of us just had one of those great CQ rides we manage to have each time we get together. Every ride is a different one and this was no exception. It sure beats mowing the lawn on Saturdays.
