A big day for Pete today knocking up his 100th CQ event. Well done old fellow.

Eleven riders turned for what started off quite a brisk morning. Although the weather forecasters had predicated 32 deg the wind had a real bight while we were stripping down to get our riding gear on.

Mick 450 bought his mate Lee along for his first CQ ride. Lee settled in well, showed plenty talent and kept the bike upright. Tom came along for his first Power line ride and kept things steady getting use to the loose gravel, water wash outs and 23 million scattered rocks.

Slo Dave also made his first appearance with the CQers' on board yet another KLX 250. Dave had an off not too far into the ride by dropping into a rut just over the lip of a hill and loosing the front wheel. Pete said he even got a photo of Tom on the other KLX after he had on off.. He was in contention for the SOTD award however between Andrea and Daza, he really didn't have a sniff at it. Daza managed a lovely dismount after taking out a rock with the front wheel and coming down hard just in front of me. The crash resulted in a severely damaged radiator and a big bruise on his thigh. He picked up the SOTD award and said his misses was going to have to give it a good rub!!!!!!

I gave Slo Dave the ROTD award for putting in a big effort throughout the ride and pushing the little 250 hard. Tom also pushed his little Kwaka hard and was often seen riding together with Dave. Richie and Rodger looked like they enjoyed the ride but Richie didn't hang around long enough to let anyone know!!

While Mick and Lee were heading out to another riding area for the afternoon (are these guys nuts) a group of us ended back at the Sawyers Valley Tavern for a bit to eat and a drink. Col Mac had eaten there before and ordered his fav steak which he said was about thiiiiiisssss big. To my surprise he was served half a dead cow that was almost still mooing. It was so bloody big he couldn't finish it!!!! This from a man who is banned from every "all you can eat restaurant" in WA.

We are still praying for some rain. The dust was thick but at least cleared quick. The ride was good, the company even better. Thanks fellows. See ya next week.
